The Early Childhood Funders Alliance, powered by GWP, is hosting an in-person workshop for funders interested in local early childhood initiatives. Guest Speaker, Cailin O'Connor will join us from the Center for the Study of Social Policy to provide an overview of the Early Relational Health community mapping tool. The tool was designed to transform community collaboration and advance policies and strategies that will reduce the burdens and stressors on parents/caregivers so that they have the time and space to focus on establishing and nurturing healthy positive relationships with their babies and toddlers.
What is Early Relational Health?
Early Relational Health (ERH) is the unifying concept that can drive early childhood system building, family engagement, and system coordination to ensure that every child can grow and develop in healthy ways and every family has the opportunity to thrive.
Workshop objectives:
- Provide a comprehensive overview of the CSSP Early Relational Community Mapping Tool
- Increase visibility of the current local early childhood and family initiatives for all community members
- Identify collective action steps for community partnership and systems coordination in support of improved Early Relational Health outcomes.
About the Speaker
Cailin O’Connor is a Senior Associate at the Center for the Study of Social Policy, where she works to promote better outcomes for young children and their families, with a focus on promoting the protective factors that children, families, and communities need to thrive. This includes coordinating the Strengthening Families National Network of 35 states using CSSP’s Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework, and supporting cities and counties in their efforts to better support early learning throughout their communities as part of Early Learning Nation.
Cailin’s work has addressed a wide range of issues, including adverse childhood experiences, resilience, early childhood system building, family support, and child abuse and neglect prevention. She is a graduate of Macalester College, and holds a master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a graduate certificate in Prevention and Intervention Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
