Due to a family emergency, our speaker is unavailable and needed to cancel. We will reschedule this session for sometime in May.

GWP’s Corporate Coffee Talks offer an informal space for corporate grantmaking professionals to share ideas, advice, and lessons-learned about their grantmaking practices. Together, we will explore challenges, learn from one another, and discover new strategies to maximize philanthropic impact.

This coffee talk will be hosted by Marcie Eberhart, Senior Director, American Eagle Outfitters Foundation & Corporate Social Responsibility. This session will provide a refresher on legal concerns for corporate grantmakers such as charity registrations, avoiding self-dealing, and more. We will be joined by Robert Laplaca, partner at Verrill Law. Rob will be available for questions and discussion throughout the session. During the registration process, please indicate if you have a specific issue you would like Rob to come prepared to discuss.

This will be a virtual session; connection details will be sent upon registration.

About the Coffee Talks:

Each session is hosted by a different GWP corporate member. The host brings a topic to the table for discussion, but the format will be kept loose and open to allow everyone the opportunity to share, ask questions, and network-build.

Be sure to save the date for our next session:

June 6, 2023, 9:00 – 10:00 AM
Hosted by: Elizabeth Saraceno
Vice President, Community Engagement Manager, First Commonwealth Bank

The Corporate Member Learning Network is intended for corporate grantmaking professionals. This network provides an opportunity to build relationships, share knowledge, and learn together. The quarterly programs explore current challenges, best practices, CSR, and other emerging topics in the field.

We are committed to making GWP programs accessible to all members. If you have questions, or if an accommodation would be helpful to fully participate in this program, please reach out to Paula or call 412-471-6488 and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
