As 2017 comes to an end, GWP staff are working to implement some of the recommendations in the GWP 2020 Road Map to adapt and better serve our members and our region. One of the primary strategies is to create a ‘bigger tent’ for regional philanthropy. GWP hopes to help build a region where all kinds of philanthropy are broadly understood, widely valued and effectively practiced.
As we explore what ‘a bigger tent’ for philanthropy looks like, we are considering how GWP’s organizational name and identity might change as well. To that end, we are convening a Communications Task Force in 2018 to guide some important decisions. One is to help GWP work toward a new organizational name and branding that reflects trends in philanthropy and our expanded, connective network role. This group will also help GWP develop broader communications strategies that help ensure we are reaching all the audiences who would find value in learning from or connecting with GWP members.
We expect this Task Force to meet four to six times in 2018, and we invite interested members to consider participating. Please register to let us know if you would like to attend the first meeting on January 23.
