COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols for GWP In-Person Programming

As we transition to hosting more in-person meetings, Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania (GWP) is dedicated to ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all participants, staff, and speakers. GWP will host in-person member meetings as requested if COVID-19 Community Levels at the time and location of the event are categorized as “low or medium.” We will continue to monitor the status of the COVID-19 pandemic in our region and adapt our health and safety practices according to local ordinances and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, including:

  • Implementing mask requirements or recommendations per local ordinances and/or national guidelines based on COVID-19 Community Levels at the time of the event.
  • Working with event venues to optimize the safety of our attendees. Every effort will be made to adhere to physical distancing guidelines; ventilation, cleaning, and hygiene recommendations; and to minimize food and beverage risks.

Our safety guidelines will be articulated as part of meeting registration. Reminders of our practices, including any updates or changes, will be communicated to registered participants as events approach.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By registering to attend a GWP event in person, members voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. To minimize risk for all, GWP asks that meeting participants will:

  • Commit to being up to date with U.S. vaccine and booster recommendations OR commit to taking a COVID-19 test on the day of the event and attend only if negative.

  • Commit to NOT attend if any of the following is true:

Within 14 days before attending the event, you have tested positive or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive, for COVID-19.

Within 48 hours prior to attending the event, you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

Within 14 days prior to attending the event, you have traveled to any international territory identified by federal or applicable state or local governments as being subject to travel or quarantine advisories due to COVID-19.

  • Abide by all health and safety measures set forth by GWP.

  • Follow all state and local requirements related to traveling during the pandemic.
