Save the Date for Foundations on the Hill 2024 - February 25-28, 2024
FOTH is hosted and presented by United Philanthropy Forum in partnership with the Council on Foundations and Independent Sector. It is the largest annual public policy and advocacy conference dedicated solely to connecting grantmakers and philanthropy-serving organizations (PSOs) with their federal lawmakers.
#FOTH2024 will build on the success of the previous Foundations on the Hill, providing multiple days of insightful pre-conference sessions (new this year!), speaker panels, opportunities to advocate together, and the chance to continue to build relationships with Members of Congress on Capitol Hill and policymakers in federal agencies.
While the philanthropic sector builds relationships with Congress year-round, FOTH is the one time a year when philanthropy comes together to speak with one, unified voice to our policymakers about the unique and vital role that charitable giving plays in America.
The 21st Annual Foundations on the Hill:
- Educates participants through engaging and timely programming and presentations about public policy issues impacting philanthropy and the communities we work with and in;
- Informs Congress and federal policymakers about the unique value of the philanthropic sector and equitable policy solutions to key issues facing the sector and communities; and
- Provides opportunities for PSOs, foundations, and other sector advocates to develop and strengthen relationships with their Members of Congress and federal policymakers.
Your Attendance Has Impact!
When polled by the Congressional Management Foundation, congressional staffers consistently indicated that direct constituent interactions have the highest influence on lawmakers’ decisions – more than any other advocacy strategies.
By hearing from their constituents in philanthropy, your members of Congress better understand the impact of the work you do in their state and the policies necessary to ensure you can effectively carry out your missions. Building relationships with members of Congress and their staff is critical to influencing policymakers and gaining their support for the philanthropic sector.
By participating in FOTH, you have significant potential to further develop key relationships on Capitol Hill and advocate for the issues that matter most to the sector and your organization.
Regardless of your experience doing policy work or participating in legislative visits, we invite and encourage you to join our FOTH Team!
